Virgin Priyanka is super heroineAccording to the CEO of Virgin Comics, Sharad Devarajan Priyanka Chopra is the best he could have asked to play the character of a super heroine in his comic series.
Says Sharad Devarajan, “Priyanka is a real-life heroine who embodies both sophistication and beauty.
Together, we plan to create a new super heroine character that will capture her spirit and carry forward Virgin Comics’ mission of redefining the Indian character entertainment industry.”

Priyanka– a ‘Comic-strip Heroine’
Bollywood hottest property these days is Priyanka Chopra, fondly called piggy chops. The glam gal will soon play the part of a comic strip heroine in an international comic book series. British businessman Richard Branson is all praises for Priyanka Chopra. After showering accolades on the actress, the entrepreneur is keen on turning her into a comic strip heroine for his publishing house.Priyanka’s character in comic series
The character in this coming comic series will exactly look like Priyanka and will also be named after her. Priyanka is working on two projects, one a completely fictional story and character, the other a super hero, who looks like her and will borrow incidents from my life. With this new facet as a comic strip heroine, Priyanka becomes the first Bollywood star and the second in India (after Sachin Tendulkar) to be featured in a comic series of international repute.
A mighty excited Priyanka is all grateful to Richard for this damn good offer. She considers herself lucky for this honour. Big filmmakers and actors like John Woo, Nicolas Cage, Shekhar Kapoor and Terry Gilliam are associated with Branson’s comics. Even our master-blaster cricketer Sachin Tendulkar has a comic book series with him.
Priyanka thinks that this will take her beyond the usual dominion of acting. Since she is someone who loves to take up new projects, Priyanka is extremely delighted with this comic strip idea. She is fond of taking on new projects and exploring new avenues and this will take her beyond the expected and forward as a person and a professional. The comic book is one more endeavour in that direction.
Her excitement is to see and she is keen on being completely involved in the whole process. And especially, something that’s an extension of her own personality is even more interesting for her. She can’t have ideas from the outside thrust on her. The comic book is an idea close to my her heart.

Priyanka Chopra to receive Nielsen Box Office AwardPriyanka Chopra seems to be in the best phase of her career. The actress will be receiving the Nielsen Box Office Award for her outstanding contribution to Asian film industry. The award will be presented to Ms. Chopra by 'The Hollywood Reporter' during the 3rd Annual Asian Film Awards on March 23. The Asian Film Awards, which recognizes professionals for their outstanding achievements in the field of Asian cinema, will be held as part of the 33rd Hong Kong International Film Festival at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
"Priyanka Chopra is India's number one female star. She has received numerous awards and accolades for her outstanding work," said Eric Mika, Publisher of 'The Hollywood Reporter' and Vice President, Nielsen Media and Entertainment Group. "It is truly amazing to acknowledge the breadth of her success, and we are honored to bestow the Nielsen Box Office Award on someone who has done so incredibly much in so little time."
Priyanka is only the second recipient to receive the Nielsen Box Office Award. She joins Andy Lau, who received the inaugural award at the 2007 ceremony.
Now in its third year, the Asian Film Awards will be recorded in front of a live audience on March 23 and will be telecast on Television Broadcasts Limited (TVB) to 30 million people in more than 30 countries, and on Star World to more than 79 million homes around the world.
