Deepika Padukone graces the cover
Deepika Padukone graces the cover of not one but two fashion and lifestyle magazines this month. While she sizzles on the latest edition of magazine The Man, Deepika is also seen strutting her stuff in the special anniversary issue of fashion magazine “ELLE”.
Famous magazine ELLE features Deepika in a shiny green silk and leather embellished dress, designed by Manish Arora. The special anniversary edition also gives a low down on ELLE’s 50 “Most Stylish People” and on the 100 top peoples, things, places and trends that shaped the year 2008.
Deepika surely knows what it means to be seen at the right place at the right time. After all, being the cover girl of two top fashion and lifestyle magazines, weeks before of the release of her next flick “Chandni Chowk To China” will surely get her all the attention she truly deserves. Way to go babe…

Deepika ousted!!
Deepika ousted!!
They claim to be friends but their actions speak differently. Recently Sonam Kapoor and Deepika Padukone refused to pose together for Vogue magazine. When they were approached to shoot together, each politely declined the offer and asked for an individual shoot.
Although it would have been cool to see the frenimies in a shoot together the two would not giv the rummor mills something to gossip about. The idea was to get the girls into a mock catfight. They were asked to wear a shirt, denims and jacket and get into a fight over a boy’s t-shirt. The visuals had to show them as two tomboyish girls fighting over a boy’s clothes.
This is the second time efforts have been made to bring the two together. Sonam even refused to share the same platform with Deepika at the recently held Filmfare awards which she was asked to host with Deepika. Finally, Konkana Sen Sharma joined Deepika.
At least Deepika has some friends left in Bollywood. Recently at the Mai Mumbai show, Preity Zinta cheered for many friends from Bollywood — from Arjun Rampal to Farhan Akhtar. But when Deepika Padukone walked the ramp, Preity just didn’t seem to be enthused.
Earlier, Manish Malhotra’s front row on Friday saw a Bollywood full-course meal with Deepika, Asin, Anushka Sharma, Riteish Deshmukh and even yesteryear star Sridevi. But what we saw was Deepika being ignored by both Asin and Anushka — with the newbie having nowhere to look except sheepishly concentrate on the show.
While rivalries are part and parcel of Tinseltown, what was interesting was that Asin was also chatting up Sophie Chaudry who was sitting to this South Indian actress’s right. Deshmukh was sitting between Anushka and Asin and all three bonded well as they could be seen giggling and chatting happily. Only poor Deepika was left out. She was only seen conversing with Sridevi, who was sitting to her left.
Why has tinsel town ganged up against poor Deepika? Me thinks she’s achieved too much too fast and has the yummiest man to call her boyfriend.

Here's looking at Vishal Bhardwaj's Kaminey
Vishal Bhardwaj's Kaminey is important for more than just the obvious reasons. It is the first time real-life 'good friends', Priyanka Chopra and Shahid Kapoor are coming together on screen.
In fact, they became friends on the sets of this film, though they live in the same apartment complex.
Very little is known about the film except that Shahid has a double role and PC plays a Maharastrian mulgi. It is the story of identical twins Guddu and Charlie born and raised in Dharavi.

The boys who are in their early twenties, hope to leave the squalour behind and move to a life of prosperity and dignity.
But the similarity ends here. Guddu hopes to climb to the top of the corporate ladder. Charlie makes a living hedging bets at the race course.
For him this is just a way to make quick money and he dreams of becoming a legitimate bookie one day. The brothers don't like each other.
They believe they have nothing in common, not even their speech defect. While Guddu stammers, especially when he is nervous, Charlie has a lisp.
The brothers have built their lives so that their paths don't ever cross. They believe it's only a question of time before they are out of each other's sight forever. And then everything changes in one day.

It’s Shah Rukh all the way at Poland’s Bollywood fest
It’s Shah Rukh all the way at Poland’s Bollywood fest
Warsaw, March 30 (IANS) Shah Rukh Khan once again stole the hearts of the Polish fans with his performance in “Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi” at the Second Bollywood Film Festival in Poland where Aamir Khan’s “Taare Zameen Par” and Deepa Mehta’s “Water” were also screened.
Shah Rukh, who is almost a household name in Poland, didn’t leave much scope for others to replace him in the hearts of his fans at the weeklong festival entitled ‘Experience the Taste of India’ that concluded Sunday.
“Shah Rukh is well-established in our psyche and we feel close to him with his performances. For us, it doesn’t matter who are the other great stars in India these days - whether it is Amitabh (Bachchan) or his son Abhishek, Aamir Khan or Hrithik Roshan,” said Anusia Sancewicz, a well-known media personality.
“Shah Rukh is really superb in most of his movies that have been shown in Poland in the past four years starting from ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’ which took Poland by surprise. In a sense, this film opened the floodgates for Bollywood films,” added Anusia.
All the tickets of “Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi” were sold much in advance though the film was screened on the last day. In Warsaw, two multiplexes screened the film to meet the heavy rush - despite that many had to face disappointment as they couldn’t get a seat in any of the two halls.
“Aamir Khan’s ‘Taare Zameen Par’ is an excellent movie and it has been appreciated by educated people, but the craze for Shah Rukh remains unabated,” observed Riki Rana, a successful businessman and son-in-law of legendary Bollwyood singer Talat Mahmood.
“The role of a commoner portrayed by Shah Rukh in ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ created more ripples in the minds of the Polish audience as Raj Kapoor had done with his roles in ‘Aawara’ and ‘Shri 420′ in 1950s and 1960s in the erstwhile Soviet Union,” added Riki Rana.
J.J. Singh, president of the Polish Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said that to promote Aamir a separate festival of his films needs to be organised.
“To promote Aamir Khan we should organise an exclusive festival of his big films such as ‘Ghajini’, ‘Rang De Basanti’ and ‘Fanaa’. The climax of ‘Fanaa’ was filmed on the Tatra mountains of Poland, yet the film has not generated much curiosity in this country, which is surprising,” said Singh who was also the main patron of the festival along with the Epelpol Entertainment.
Deepa Mehta’s “Water”, Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham starrer “Dostana” and Yash Raj Films’ “Tashan” were also screened along with “Outsourced” and “Hello”.
“Since Poland produces very artistic movies with great directors like Andrzej Wajda, Krzysztof Zanussi and Roman Polanski, that is why Mehta’s ‘Water’ was highly appreciated by the artistic Polish fans,” said Gabellia Krzyzowska, an eminent Indophile.
“There is scope for films of Shabana Azmi, Nasiruddin Shah and Om Puri,” she added.
